Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)
You may be able to receive dental services if you have an assessed clinical need and a:
- Veteran Gold Card; or
- Veteran White Card and your treatment is for an accepted service-related condition
Child Dental Health Scheme (CDBS)
- Acces to benefits for basic dental services (capped over 2 years)
- Includes check-ups, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canal and extractions.
Your child may be eligible if:
- they are aged 2 to 17
- they are eligible for Medicare and
- you or your child are getting Family Tax Benefit Part A or certain other government payments
Metropolitan Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme (MPDSS)
Metropolitan Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme (MPDSS): when funding permits provides opportunity for eligible metropolitan patients on a public dental waiting list to be issued on authority to undergo a course of non-urgent subsidised general dental care at participating private dental practitioners
Eligible patients with a General Treatment Authority form can access either 75% or 50% of up to $1500 dental treatment or 75% or 50% of emergency dental of up to $600 bulk billed to Medicare. The remaining amount is paid by the patient on the day of treatment.
